金钱兜喜温暖湿润和阳光充足的环境，耐半阴，不耐寒，怕干旱。金钱兜在家庭中可长期放在光线明亮的室内，如果每天能在室内见到数小时的阳光则生长更为旺盛。夏季注意避免室外强烈阳光的直射。

金钱兜生长期保持盆土湿润而不积水，经常用与室温相近的水向金钱兜植株喷洒，以增加空气湿度，使叶色清新。每2周左右施一次观叶植物专用肥或腐熟的稀薄液肥，若是花叶品种，注意肥液中氮肥含量不宜过高，
